Privacy policy
1. Who we are and how to contact us
Traveler Gate and the website travelergate.app are owned and operated by TravelGate Travel and Tourism, registered in the Kingdom of Bahrain under Commercial Registration (CR) No. 4840-0-8. In these policies, “Traveler Gate”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean this legal entity.
Office address: [BUILDING, ROAD, BLOCK, CITY], Kingdom of Bahrain. Location: [MAP LINK]. P.O. Box: 18657. Telephone: [BUSINESS PHONE INCLUDING +973]. Email: info@TravelGate.app. Office hours: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., every day except Friday, Bahrain time (UTC+3).
The legal entity above is the controller of personal data it processes to operate Traveler Gate and arrange its services. Privacy contact: info@TravelGate.app. This policy describes how we collect, use, protect and disclose personal information in connection with the website, accounts, enquiries and bookings, subject to Bahrain's Personal Data Protection Law No. 30 of 2018 and applicable rules.
2. Information collected and its sources
We collect information you give us directly, information supplied by an authorized booking person or agency, and relevant information from travel suppliers, payment providers and website use. Depending on your request, this may include:
- Name, contact details, account and agency information and support correspondence.
- Passenger names, dates of birth, nationality, passport or identity details, itinerary, room occupancy and booking history.
- Payment amounts, references, payment status and receipts. Uploading a transfer slip or picture is optional.
- Technical information such as session identifiers, browser or device details, IP address where recorded, security logs and language or website preferences.
- Special-assistance information you choose to provide where necessary for a requested arrangement. We seek any consent or authorization required for sensitive information.
Provide only information needed for your request. Do not send card PINs, card security codes, passwords or unrelated sensitive documents in messages or attachments. If card payments are offered, the payment provider's own notice explains its processing of payment details.
3. Purposes and legal grounds
We use relevant information to operate accounts, respond to enquiries, prepare and fulfill bookings, issue travel documents, communicate changes, verify payments, process eligible refunds, maintain accounting records, investigate complaints, prevent fraud and protect the website. We also process information where required by law or lawful requests from competent authorities.
We rely on the applicable legal ground for each purpose, including steps requested before a contract, performance of a contract, legal obligations, consent where required, or another ground permitted by law. Consent to booking terms is not consent to unrelated marketing. Where separate marketing consent is requested, it is optional and may be withdrawn.
4. Children and other travellers
Our account and purchasing services are intended for adults who have legal capacity. A person under 18 must not independently register or purchase through the website. A parent, legal guardian or authorized adult may provide the minimum details needed to arrange a child's travel. They must have the necessary authority and explain the processing appropriately to the child.
We do not knowingly collect children's information for unrelated marketing. If you believe a child has independently provided data without the necessary authority, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action. When booking for other adults, ensure you are authorized to provide their details and share this policy with them.
5. No sale of data; necessary sharing
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, or share it with third parties for their independent advertising or marketing. We do disclose relevant information when necessary to provide the requested travel service, run the website, protect rights or comply with law.
Recipients may include the airlines, hotels, transport operators and destination suppliers involved in your booking; your authorized booking agency; banks and payment processors handling your transaction; hosting, communication and other contracted technical service providers; and professional advisers or competent authorities where required. We limit disclosure to the relevant purpose and apply appropriate confidentiality and security requirements. Travel suppliers and payment providers may act as separate controllers under their own notices.
6. International processing
International travel and the providers used for hosting or support may require processing outside Bahrain, including in the destination country. We assess the applicable legal requirements and safeguards before such transfers and use a lawful transfer basis. Contact the privacy address above for information about the recipients, countries and safeguards relevant to your booking. A foreign destination does not remove our obligations under applicable data protection law.
7. Cookies and similar storage
Necessary cookies and browser storage support sign-in, security, language choices and continuity of the booking journey. Such storage may include session identifiers and saved preferences. Optional analytics or advertising technologies, if enabled, require the applicable notice and consent controls. We do not treat a booking as permission for optional tracking.
You may manage optional choices through the website controls where provided and clear or restrict storage in your browser. Blocking necessary storage can affect sign-in or booking functions. Cookie names, purposes, providers and durations: [INSERT VERIFIED COOKIE AND BROWSER-STORAGE SCHEDULE].
8. Secure processing
We process personal data using appropriate technical and organizational safeguards. The website uses HTTPS to protect information in transit. Access is restricted according to staff responsibilities, and managed backups support recovery. Information is made available only to authorized persons and service providers who need it for the relevant purpose. No internet system can guarantee absolute security; please protect your credentials and report suspected compromise promptly. Security incidents are assessed and notified to affected people or authorities where required by law.
9. Retention
We keep information only for the period needed for the purpose for which it was collected and for applicable legal, accounting, fraud-prevention and dispute requirements. Account, booking, financial and security records may have different retention periods; cancellation of a booking does not automatically erase its records. Our applicable retention periods or criteria are: [INSERT VERIFIED RETENTION SCHEDULE FOR ACCOUNTS, BOOKINGS/PASSPORT DOCUMENTS, PAYMENTS, LOGS AND BACKUPS]. When retention is no longer justified, information is securely deleted or anonymized as appropriate.
10. Your rights and requests
Subject to applicable conditions, you may request information about processing, access to your personal data, correction, and deletion, blocking or objection. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing. Send requests to the privacy contact above, explaining the request and relevant booking or account reference. We may reasonably verify identity before disclosing or changing data, and will respond within the applicable legal periods. Some records must be retained despite a deletion request; we will explain relevant restrictions.
You may raise a concern with us or with Bahrain's competent personal data protection authority. Exercising your rights does not waive your other legal remedies.
11. External websites and updates
Links to external websites are governed by their operators' privacy notices. We may update this policy when our services, processing or legal requirements change, and will provide further notice where required. The currently published version is available on this page. Contact us if you need clarification about the handling of your information.
